Wells Harbour Railway

Wells Harbour Railway is a miniature railway in North Norfolk that carries passengers on a short journey between the harbor and nearby woodland areas. The track follows the coastal landscape and offers views of the Norfolk scenery along the route.

The railway was founded in 1976 and has connected two coastal stations since then. A severe storm in 1978 damaged a section of track, marking an important moment in its history.

The railway is part of the local seaside experience, connecting beachgoers with the harbor in a playful way. Families and children use this small train as a special way to explore the coastal landscape together.

The railway operates from spring through autumn, with tickets purchased directly from staff at the stations. Visitors should be prepared for changing weather as the journey runs through open coastal terrain.

The locomotives were designed by a specialist builder and have carried tens of thousands of passengers since opening. These small engines remain in operation and display the craftsmanship of miniature railway engineering.
