Sacred Heart Church, Liverpool, Gothic Revival church in Kensington, Liverpool, England
The Sacred Heart Church features an exterior constructed of red and yellow sandstone with a decorated Gothic architectural design by George Goldie.
Established in 1886 to serve the expanding Catholic population, the church replaced an earlier chapel operated by the Sisters of Mercy.
The interior contains alabaster decorations, marble altar rails, and paired Stations of the Cross with angel corbels throughout the worship space.
The church maintains regular services and community activities, including weekly mass on Saturday evenings at 6:30 PM near Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
The sanctuary showcases an altar piece created by Pugin & Pugin, with statues designed by Boulton of Cheltenham in 1891.
