Church of St Michael and All Angels, Beckwithshaw

This building was constructed in the 1880s at the request of two wealthy community members who wanted a new house of worship for their growing neighborhood. A local architect oversaw the project to its completion.

The interior displays Victorian craftsmanship through stained glass windows and carved woodwork that reflect the artistic standards of the era. These decorative elements tell stories through their carefully designed details.

The building can be viewed from the outside freely, while the interior is accessible at certain times. Visitors should check ahead to learn when services or public events are held.

An unusual feature of the original design was the decision not to include a graveyard on the property. This departure from typical church layouts was a rare choice for that period.
