Lammas Ecovillage, Ecovillage in Glandwr, Pembrokeshire, United Kingdom.
Lammas Ecovillage is a residential ecovillage in Pembrokeshire, Wales, made up of nine households and a shared community building. The structures are built from natural materials and powered by renewable energy sources.
The project spent three years seeking planning permission before receiving approval in 2009. It was the first ecovillage in the United Kingdom to gain that official status.
Residents grow much of their own food and process organic waste directly on their plots. Daily life revolves around shared responsibility for water, woodland, and energy.
This is a private residential community, so access is limited and generally requires prior arrangement. It is worth reaching out in advance if you want to visit or find out more.
The village operates under the Welsh Government's One Planet Development policy, which requires residents to earn their living largely from the land. This means each household must show how it contributes to its own self-sufficiency.
