Church of St George, Medieval parish church in Georgeham, England
The Church of St George exhibits stone rubble walls, an embattled three-stage tower, and original wooden ceilings with intricately carved decorative elements.
Established in 1250, the church underwent substantial modifications in 1762, transforming its interior to a Classical style while retaining medieval structural elements.
The Pickwell Chapel contains a stone effigy of Sir Mauger St Aubyn III, a knight who fought against the Welsh forces in 1283.
The church maintains regular worship services and welcomes visitors to explore its architectural features, including the 14th-century stained glass north quatrefoil window.
A community tapestry map of Georgeham Parish, completed in 1995, required 3,000 hours of work from 85 local artists and children.
