St Mary's Church, Medieval parish church in Dymock, England.

St Mary's Church is a Norman parish church in Dymock, England, featuring a long nave from the 12th century and a west tower topped with an octagonal pyramid spire from the 15th century. The building displays how its structure evolved over several hundred years as different periods added their own architectural elements.

The church appears in the Domesday Book of 1086, marking its existence in the early Norman period of England. In the 19th century, architect John Middleton undertook major restoration work that reshaped much of what visitors see today.

The west end of the nave displays exhibits about the Dymock Poets, a group of writers who lived nearby between 1911 and 1914. Their presence shaped the area's literary identity and remains central to how locals understand the church today.

The church is open to visitors, though various parts of the stonework need ongoing care due to weathering over time. Step carefully around the older sections of the tower and buttresses where the stone surfaces can be uneven.

The building represents a medieval school of Romanesque sculpture, first documented by art historian George Zarnecki in 1950. This early recognition helped establish the place as an important example of Norman stone carving craftsmanship.
