Built in the 17th century, this Grade I listed building served as a municipal prison where local criminals faced punishment for various offenses against society.
The museum exhibits document the evolution of the British legal system through artifacts, prison records, and personal accounts of inmates from different periods.
Located on Tolhouse Street in Great Yarmouth, the museum charges £5 for adult admission and will reopen to visitors in April 2025.
The building contains original prison cells and interrogation chambers that demonstrate the methods of confinement and justice administration from past centuries.
