Wade's Bridge, Stone arch road bridge in Aberfeldy, Scotland

Wade's Bridge spans the River Tay with five arches extending nearly 400 feet across the water, constructed entirely of solid stone masonry.

The bridge, completed in 1734, was designed by architect William Adam as part of General Wade's military road network through the Scottish Highlands.

The structure represents an important example of Scottish civil engineering, demonstrating the advanced construction techniques used in the 18th century.

The bridge remains operational as part of the B846 road, connecting local communities while supporting regular vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

General Wade personally laid the first stone on April 23, 1733, making this bridge the most expensive in his network at £4,095.
