St Thomas Cathedral & Bishop House

St Thomas Cathedral is the principal church of the Syro-Malabar Catholic eparchy and serves as the main gathering place for worship in Irinjalakuda. The cathedral developed from the merger of two separate parishes: St George's church founded in 1845 and St Mary's church established in 1880. This combination created the foundation for the religious complex that expanded to serve the growing Catholic community.
