Kundrathur Nageswarar Temple, Hindu temple in Kundrathur, India.

Kundrathur Nageswarar Temple is a Hindu shrine featuring a five-tier entrance tower on its eastern side and traditional prayer halls with intricate stone carvings and pillars. The complex displays typical South Indian architectural style with elaborately designed interior spaces.

The structure was built in the 12th century by saint Sekkilar and bears 46 stone inscriptions from various Chola dynasty rulers. These inscriptions document the temple's importance across multiple generations.

This temple is one of nine Navagraha temples in the Tondai Mandalam region, dedicated to the celestial body Rahu through its Shiva representation. Visitors can observe how this cosmic connection shapes the temple's spiritual purpose and rituals.

The temple sits about one kilometer from Kundrathur bus terminus and offers good accessibility for visitors. It is wise to check opening times in advance and wear appropriate clothing to respect the sanctuary's customs.

The Shiva linga features a distinctive Nagabharanam, a snake ornament encircling it, which gives this place its name. This particular representation sets it apart from other temples in the Navagraha group.
