Hassan Modarres Mausoleum

Hassan Modarres Mausoleum is a shrine in Kashmar featuring a turquoise dome with four iwans that blend traditional and modern design elements. The brick structure houses a library for research and a burial chamber beneath the central dome.

Hassan Modarres was assassinated in 1937, and the mausoleum was built in 1943 following the fall of Reza Shah Pahlavi. The construction marked a shift when new leadership could acknowledge his role in reform movements.
