The Piccolo Teatro is a theatre company in Milan with three separate performance venues: Teatro Grassi in Palazzo Carmagnola, Teatro Strehler, and Teatro Studio Melato. Each location has its own character and offers different types of productions and theatre spaces.
Giorgio Strehler, Paolo Grassi, and Nina Vinchi founded the theatre in 1947 as Italy's first public repertory company. The enterprise fundamentally transformed Italian theatre and established new standards for artistic production.
