Trajan's Forum, Roman archaeological complex in Monti district, Rome, Italy.

The Forum extends over 100,000 square meters with multiple levels of structures, including a basilica, libraries, markets, and administrative buildings.

Emperor Trajan commissioned architect Apollodorus of Damascus to construct this monumental complex in 107 AD using funds from the Dacian Wars victory.

The Markets of Trajan contained over 150 shops and offices across multiple floors, demonstrating the advanced commercial organization of ancient Rome.

Visitors access the archaeological site through the Museum of Imperial Forums, which displays artifacts and provides information about the Roman empire.

Engineers removed 300,000 cubic meters of earth from the Quirinal Hill to create space for this enormous complex between the Capitol and Quirinal.
