Castello Malaspina

The rectangular fortified structure stands on elevated ground within the town, featuring stone walls, multiple towers, and two northern entrances to the main building.

Construction began in 1304 under Corradino Malaspina's direction, with the castle passing to the Visconti family in 1360 and later to the Dal Verme counts in 1436.

The interior contains the Marine Room, a grand hall with a stone fireplace, and the Octagonal Table Room displaying sixteenth-century frescoes and period furniture.

The castle opens from June through September, Tuesday to Sunday, with morning and afternoon visiting hours, while winter schedule runs Monday through Saturday.

The castle's underground level includes several inaccessible rooms beneath the current entrance, marked by a three-meter height difference from the foundation.
