The San Colombano Museum displays archaeological materials and artworks spanning from the fourth to the eighteenth century within the ancient Bobbio Abbey complex.
The museum opened its doors on September 3, 1963, establishing itself as a guardian of religious artifacts and regional heritage in northern Italy.
The collection includes an early twelfth-century mosaic pavement discovered in 1910, depicting scenes from the Book of Maccabees and mythological creatures.
The museum welcomes visitors on Saturdays from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM and Sundays from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
The Mazzolini Collection contains eight paintings by Giorgio De Chirico, including works that artists offered in exchange for medical services.
