Museo archeologico provinciale della Lucania occ

The Provincial Archaeological Museum of Western Lucania presents collections spanning from the 10th century BC to the 6th century AD within the Certosa of San Lorenzo.

Established in 1957, the museum houses approximately 1500 tombs discovered during excavations conducted by the Provincial Museums Directorate of Salerno in Sala Consilina and Padula.

The collection includes male tombs containing iron weapons and female burials with spinning tools, jewelry, and decorative items reflecting ancient social structures.

Located at Viale Certosa 1 in Padula, the museum opens daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM except Tuesdays, with admission prices of 4 euros for adults.

The museum exhibits high-quality Attic Greek pottery and a collection of antefixes depicting Maenads and Silenus heads discovered between 1957 and 1958.
