Padula, Medieval commune in Cilento National Park, Italy

The town of Padula spans across 66 square kilometers of land at an elevation of 699 meters above sea level in the Campania region.

The settlement traces its roots to the Lucani tribe in the 12th century BC, with the original settlement of Civita positioned at a higher altitude.

The Charterhouse of San Lorenzo in Padula contains 350 rooms and represents the largest Christian monastery structure in Europe, recognized by UNESCO.

Visitors can reach Padula via the A2 motorway exit 'Padula-Buonabitacolo' or take the Certosa Link bus service from Salerno railway station.
