Pieve di San Donato in Poggio, Romanesque church in San Donato in Poggio, Italy.

Pieve di San Donato in Poggio is a Romanesque church with a stone structure featuring three naves, semi-circular arches, and traditional truss roofing. The building incorporates pebbles from the local river in its construction, reflecting practical medieval building methods.

The church was established as an important parish institution during the Middle Ages, serving the local community's religious needs. In 1376, its role shifted when parish functions were transferred to the cathedral in Cittadella.

The church houses frescoes from the 14th century and a glazed terracotta baptismal font by Giovanni della Robbia. These artworks reflect the artistic wealth that once defined this rural parish community.

Access to the church is generally available in the afternoon, and the village surroundings invite a leisurely walk around the site. Visiting in the morning hours allows better light to view the interior frescoes.

The baptismal font was created by Giovanni della Robbia, one of the most celebrated terracotta artists of the Renaissance. This work demonstrates that even small rural churches had access to the finest artists of the period.
