Palazzo Balbi-Valier Sammartini

Palazzo Balbi-Valier Sammartini is a 17th-century palace standing on the Grand Canal in the Dorsoduro district. Its facade combines Venetian building traditions with Byzantine influences and shows signs of renovations from later periods.

The palace was built in the 17th century as a residence for a wealthy family and underwent major rebuilding in the 18th century. These renovations transformed especially the upper floors and reshaped how the building appeared.
