The building displays a symmetrical structure with elaborately decorated interiors where wall paintings and ceiling ornaments cover all surfaces.
Architect Dario Varotari designed this building in the second half of the 16th century as a hunting lodge for the noble Capodilista family. The villa was built during a period when wealthy Venetians used such country houses as retreats on their estates.
The interior rooms display frescoes depicting mythological scenes, Roman history, and family stories across the walls and ceilings. These paintings tell of ancient gods and historical events that held meaning for the noble Capodilista family.
