Utsunomiya Castle Ruins Park

The 3.7-hectare park contains stone walls, restored towers, and moats that outline the former structure of a medieval Japanese fortification.

Originally constructed as a feudal stronghold during the Heian period, the castle served as the residence of the Utsunomiya clan until modern urban development.

The Seimei-kan history museum within the park presents exhibitions about local heritage and traditional artifacts from the Utsunomiya region.

Located near Utsunomiya City Hall, the park offers free admission and remains open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM for tower visits.

The park features evening illuminations from Friday to Sunday until 9:00 PM, highlighting the architectural elements of the restored castle structures.
