Chiesa dei Santi Cosma e Damiano, Catholic church in Giudecca, Venice, Italy
The building features a gabled facade and a single nave ending in three apses, with architectural elements from multiple renovation periods.
Marina Celsi, a Benedictine nun, established the adjacent monastery in the late 15th century, initially welcoming noble women who brought substantial inheritances.
The church interior contained artworks by Palma il Giovane, Tintoretto, and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo until the Napoleonic period dispersed the collection.
The building currently functions as a business incubator, with the church nave divided into three levels for administrative activities.
Girolamo Pellegrini painted the dome with the Assumption of the Virgin in the 17th century, while recent renovations uncovered frescoes of Church Doctors.
