金勝寺

Konshoji Temple stands on Mount Konze, featuring multiple temple buildings surrounded by ancient cedar trees and maple trees in eastern Shiga Prefecture.

The temple was established in 733 under Emperor Shomu's decree, with Roben as its founding priest to protect Shigaraki Palace from negative influences.

The temple houses multiple Important Cultural Properties, including wooden statues of Buddha, Gundari Myoo, Kokuzou Bosatsu, Bishamonten, and Jizo Bosatsu.

Located at 1394 Arahari in Ritto City, the temple provides parking for 13 vehicles and requires an admission fee for entering the main buildings.

The temple complex originally contained 36 temple buildings and supervised 25 branch temples throughout the southern Lake Biwa region.
