Porta di Prada

Located at 1,653 meters altitude, this limestone arch spans 8 meters in width and reaches a height of 15 meters in the Grigne mountain range.

The arch formed over millions of years through natural erosion processes in the Triassic limestone rocks of the Esino Formation.

Local mountaineering groups installed commemorative plaques and a cross under the arch to honor members of the Italian Alpine Club.

The path to reach Porta di Prada starts from Cainallo parking lot and follows trail number 24, requiring approximately one hour of hiking.

The natural arch provides direct views of both Lake Como and the northern Grigna peak, making it a notable geological formation in Lombardy.
