Santa Caterina, Palermo

Santa Caterina is a Baroque church on Piazza Bellini in Palermo, featuring a Renaissance facade adorned with Corinthian pilasters. The interior displays ornate stucco work, statues, and colored marble that create a richly decorated space.

The church was originally part of a monastery founded in 1310 by Benvenuta Mastrangelo. Between 1566 and 1596, the building underwent major renovations under the direction of Mother Prioress Maria del Carretto.
