Nihon Jidō Teate Kyōkai. Kodomo no Shiro, Children's educational center in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
Kodomo no Shiro was an educational center for children in Shibuya with multiple floors filled with spaces for creative activities. It contained art studios, computer rooms, performance theaters, and various interactive play areas throughout the building.
This center opened in 1985 and served for many years as an important venue for youth education in the city. It closed in 2015 after a long period of operation.
This place reflected Japanese educational values by creating spaces where children could explore music and arts naturally. The design encouraged visitors to learn through hands-on experience rather than passive observation.
The center was located in the heart of Shibuya and was easily accessible by public transportation. Staff at the information counter could help visitors navigate and answer questions.
A special feature was the Play Port, a massive play area filled with tens of thousands of colorful plastic balls. Children could float in nets and explore mazes within this space.
