Old Church of St. John the Baptist, Zapyškis

The Old Church of St. John the Baptist features red brick walls, pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and a characteristic bell tower rising above the village.

Constructed in 1578 by Povilas Sapiega, the voivode of Navahrudak, this brick structure stands as one of Lithuania's oldest religious buildings from the 16th century.

The building, no longer used for religious services since the early 1900s, functions as a venue for music performances and cultural gatherings.

The structure earned the title 'The Mother of Lithuanian Churches' due to its architectural influence on subsequent religious buildings across the country.
