Bourglinster Castle, Medieval castle in Junglinster, Luxembourg
Bourglinster Castle is a stone fortress featuring a residential keep, chapel, defensive towers, and a Renaissance wing within protective walls. The complex overlooks the village below and displays architectural elements from different periods.
The castle originated in 1098 when it belonged to Saint Symeon of Trier and underwent major expansions during the 14th and 15th centuries. These building campaigns transformed the structure into its current complex form.
The Knights' Hall hosts the Chamber Music Festival, bringing together local and international musicians for classical concerts throughout the year.
The castle contains three banquet halls with a combined capacity of around 200 people for various events and gatherings. Check ahead for visiting conditions and ongoing events to plan your visit and understand what areas are accessible.
The former stables of the castle now house Annexes, an artistic creation center supporting artists working across multiple disciplines. This transformation shows how historic spaces have been repurposed for contemporary creative work.
