Fischbach Castle, Medieval castle in Fischbach, Luxembourg
The stone castle stands on a hill in central Luxembourg, featuring traditional architectural elements with multiple towers and fortified walls.
The Abbey of Echternach first owned the estate until 1050, when Udo of Fischbach acquired it as the first non-religious proprietor.
The castle maintains its status as a Grand Ducal residence, reflecting Luxembourg's constitutional monarchy and its traditions through generations.
The castle remains a private residence of the Grand Ducal family and does not offer internal tours to the public.
During World War II, the Germans transformed the castle into Künstlerheim Fischbach, using it as a residence for artists.
