Zasa Manor

Zasa Manor is an estate complex in the Jēkabpils region where the main house no longer stands, but the surrounding parkland with original features remains intact. The grounds include a water mill, cascading water features, and multiple landscape zones spread across a large area.

The property was founded in 1644 by the noble von Zass family and remained under their control until passing to the von Greig family later on. The main building was destroyed during revolutionary turmoil in 1905, though other structures within the complex survived.

The Zasa Lutheran Church from the 18th century still stands on the grounds, reflecting the spiritual role this place held for the local community. The building continues to shape the character of the former manor complex today.

The site is accessible today and can be explored on foot, with the park serving as the main attraction for visitors. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes since the grounds are expansive and feature several areas worth exploring.

The park is home to uncommon tree species for the region, including pines and cedars that form a botanical collection unlike the local flora. These trees give the grounds a distinctive appearance compared to similar places in the area.
