Hanzas perons, Event venue in central Riga, Latvia.
Hanzas perons is a large event venue in central Riga housed within a former railway freight warehouse. The main hall can accommodate various types of performances and gatherings, with preserved wooden beams and contemporary metal supports for event infrastructure.
The building originated as part of a former railway warehouse complex in Riga and was later transformed from a neglected freight storage building into a functioning event space. This restoration preserved the historical structure while enabling contemporary event operations.
The venue draws performers and audiences from around the world for concerts, orchestral shows, and tech events. Its blend of preserved wooden structural elements and contemporary design creates a distinctive setting that appeals to both local and international artists.
The space can accommodate roughly 2,100 standing visitors or 1,100 seated guests depending on the event layout. The open floor plan of the main hall allows flexible configurations to suit different performance formats.
An external steel frame wraps around the original brick structure, serving as protective reinforcement for the aging warehouse walls. This engineering approach creates a column-free interior, which is unusual for such large event spaces.
