Fire fighting museum, Historical firefighting museum in central Riga, Latvia.
The Fire Fighting Museum exhibits an extensive collection of firefighting equipment, including vintage vehicles, uniforms, helmets, tools, and historical photographs spanning multiple decades.
Established in 1980, the museum occupies an Art Nouveau building from 1912, designed by Baltic German architect Reinhold Schmeling to serve as a fire station.
The Hall of Honour presents names and medals of Latvian firefighters who died in service, preserving their memory for future generations.
Located at Hanzas Street 5, the museum welcomes visitors Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with admission fees of 1 euro for adults.
The museum building features a Baroque watchtower that functioned as a hose-drying facility during its time as an active fire station.
