Doornenburg Castle

Doornenburg Castle is a stone fortification with two main sections: a fortified central building and an outer bailey connected by a stone bridge across the moat. The structure shows the typical medieval defensive design built for the region.

The castle was built in the 15th century and served as a defensive stronghold against threats for centuries. After suffering heavy damage during World War II bombing, it was completely rebuilt and later converted into a museum.

The castle welcomes visitors on weekends with access to exhibition rooms and the outdoor grounds. Wear sturdy shoes as the terrain is uneven in places and there are stairs to climb throughout the property.
