Leidsebosje

Leidsebosje is a green space located near Leidseplein in central Amsterdam. Situated between Stadhouderskade and Singelgracht, it features several large plane trees that provide natural shade throughout the area.

The site appears on Gerrit de Broen's map from 1737, showing its early role along Amsterdam's former city walls. Over time it developed into an important green rest area near the historic center.

The park serves as a gathering place where visitors encounter several public artworks scattered throughout the grounds. These pieces, featuring busts of notable writers, encourage people to explore while passing through.

Two plane trees dating from 1880 stand as among the largest trees in the city and reach remarkable size. These elderly specimens serve as living witnesses to Amsterdam's development and form a natural landmark within the park.
