Huisje van Uneken

The Huisje van Uneken features a central living room measuring five by five meters with a peat stove and a similarly sized bedroom adjacent to it.

Built in 1944, the farmhouse served as home to Jan Uneken, his wife, and their ten children until 1967, when they relocated to central Zwartemeer.

The structure represents traditional Dutch farm life with its basic amenities, including oil lamps for lighting and a peat-burning stove for cooking and heating.

The farmhouse contained separate areas for living and livestock, with a kitchen measuring three by five meters and stables for cows, goats, and a horse.

After the Uneken family moved out, Staatsbosbeheer acquired the property, and the building transformed into a natural habitat for insects, birds, and bats.
