Huygensgebouw, Nijmegen, Science faculty building at Radboud University, Nijmegen, Netherlands
The Huygensgebouw consists of four interconnected four-story wings joined by a central street structure with a plaza in the middle.
Queen Beatrix officially inaugurated the Huygensgebouw in May 2007, following its construction that began in 2002 on the site of former Universal Laboratory.
The building contains research facilities for natural sciences, mathematics, and computer science departments, continuing the Dutch tradition of scientific excellence.
The structure includes dedicated parking areas in level P11, laboratory corridors with restricted access, and underground tunnels connecting to Mercator 3 and NanoLab Nijmegen.
Two optical telescopes crown the building's roof, including a rare 1905 lens telescope constructed by Maurice Manent.
