The Matilda L. Bradford Memorial Church features a cruciform design with Gothic lancet windows and a checkerboard pattern floor of black and white tiles.
The Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions acquired three hectares of land in 1912 to construct this church, which opened its doors in October 1913.
The church provided services in multiple languages, including Cebuano and Chinese, to accommodate the diverse Protestant community of Cebu City.
The National Historical Commission designated this structure as a national historical landmark in 1984, preventing its planned demolition and ensuring its preservation.
The church established a medical relief program for people with leprosy who remained in Cebu rather than relocating to Culion Leper Colony.
