Zespół klasztorny w Marianowie

Kloster Marienfließ is a monastery complex consisting of a church and residential buildings situated on the shores of Lake Marianowskie in West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The compound includes multiple structures that together form a cohesive complex overlooking the water.

The complex was founded in 1248 by Duke Barnim I of Pomerania, who granted it substantial land holdings to support the institution. A fire in 1549 destroyed much of the archive, causing permanent loss of records documenting the monastery's early development.

The monastery began as a Cistercian convent and later became a residence for unmarried noblewomen after the Reformation. This shift in purpose left its mark on how the buildings were arranged and used over centuries.

The monastery is accessible by car or public transport and sits near the lake, making walks around the grounds possible. Visitors should check beforehand whether viewing is permitted, as the site remains an active religious community.

The exact reasons for its renaming to 'Marienfließ' remain incompletely documented, adding historical mystery to the site. This gap in records intrigues visitors interested in piecing together the place's past.
