Pęzino Castle, Gothic castle in Pęzino, Poland
The medieval castle stands at the convergence of the Krąpiel and Pęzinka rivers, featuring a four-part fortification wall surrounding an irregular courtyard.
Built in 1382 by the Knights of Malta, the castle changed ownership to the Borkowie family in 1492 and underwent substantial renovations around 1600.
The castle structure represents the evolution of defensive architecture, combining Gothic elements with later Renaissance and Neo-Gothic modifications through centuries.
Visitors can reach the castle by taking road number 20 from Stargard Szczeciński toward Chociwel and turning right to Pęzino after five kilometers.
The castle foundation includes an artificial hill system with waters from two rivers flooding the surrounding area and filling the moat around the outer ward.
