St. Peter and Paul-Collegiate in Kruszwica, Romanesque church building in Kruszwica, Poland

St. Peter and Paul-Collegiate is a Romanesque basilica with three naves, five apses of varying sizes, and a single tower built from granite blocks and sandstone. The building displays the typical three-part structure of a medieval church with clearly defined altar areas at the east end.

Construction began between 1120 and 1140, and the church initially served as a bishop's seat. The episcopal center shifted to nearby Włocławek around 1148, marking a turning point in the building's role.

The name may derive from the legendary tower that once stood in the town. Visitors today can observe the original spatial arrangement, which reflects how medieval communities organized their sacred spaces.

The building is located at 26 Kolegiacka Street and welcomes visitors interested in medieval architecture and design. Regular religious services take place, so it is best to check beforehand if planning to view the interior in detail.

The western facade underwent substantial changes in the 16th century, while the rest of the building retained its medieval layout. This selective modification reveals how the structure adapted to changing needs while preserving its ancient core.
