Kruszwica Castle, Medieval fortress in Kruszwica, Poland.

The massive octagonal Mouse Tower rises 32 meters above Lake Goplo, standing as the remaining structure of the original castle complex.

King Casimir the Great initiated the construction of this brick fortress between 1350 and 1355 to protect the region from Teutonic Order invasions.

The castle remains contain preserved dungeons and defensive structures that demonstrate medieval Polish military architecture and fortification techniques.

Visitors can access the tower through a wooden bridge and explore the recently renovated southern wing basements during regular opening hours.

The thick defensive walls, measuring 2.7 meters wide and reaching 11 meters high, included rectangular battlements for medieval guards to patrol.
