Rezerwat przyrody Świnia Góra, Nature reserve in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Poland.
Rezerwat przyrody Świnia Góra is a nature reserve located on a flat highland ridge in the western Suchedniów Hills, sitting at about 330 meters elevation. The protected area is largely covered by mature forest that forms the heart of this conservation site.
Iron ore extraction occurred in the western section of this area from the 17th century through the early 20th century. The land later recovered and was eventually designated as a protected reserve to preserve its regrown forest landscape.
The reserve received its name in honor of Stanisław Barański, a forest ranger and district forester who contributed to the protection of local woodlands.
A walking trail connecting Bliżyn and Zagnańsk passes through the reserve, offering straightforward access to explore the protected forest on foot. The path allows visitors to move through the area at their own pace while observing the woodland environment.
The forest contains trees that are several hundred years old and grow to substantial heights, which is uncommon in this region. These ancient stands also shelter specialized mountain plant species and lichen types that are rarely found elsewhere nearby.
