Reszel Castle, Medieval castle in Reszel, Poland
The red brick fortification stands on a hill above the Sajna River, featuring a defensive tower and two courtyards enclosed by walls.
Built between 1350 and 1401 by Warmian bishops, the castle served as a strategic stronghold during conflicts between Polish and Teutonic forces.
The castle houses an art gallery with rotating exhibitions, a medieval torture instruments collection, and displays of armor and siege machines.
Visitors can explore the tower, underground chambers, and courtyards, with a hotel and restaurant operating within the castle premises.
The castle's southern wing contains archaeological remnants of an ancient Prussian fortification that predates the current structure.
