Reszel Castle

Reszel Castle is a red brick fortification perched on a hill above the Sajna River, featuring a dominant defensive tower and two courtyards enclosed by walls. The structure displays typical medieval defensive features with underground chambers beneath the buildings.

The castle was built between 1350 and 1401 by Warmian bishops and served as a strategic stronghold during conflicts between Polish and Teutonic forces. This period shaped the region's development during the medieval era.

The castle houses rotating art exhibitions and displays armor and medieval weapons that reflect the daily life of a fortress. These collections give visitors a sense of how people lived and defended themselves here.
