Stoszowice Castle

Stoszowice Castle is a two-story rectangular structure topped by a square tower positioned at its northeast corner, displaying Renaissance design from the 16th century. The building presents a compact fortified layout typical of its era and architectural tradition.

The castle was built in the 16th century and underwent changes through the 19th century, functioning as both an administrative center and a family residence. The von Strachwitz family occupied it for an extended period before it was abandoned in 1945.

The coat of arms carved into the walls show connections to the Strachwitz and Wittenburg families who held power in the region. These stone symbols tell visitors about the noble families tied to this place.

The castle is in private ownership and visitors need permission from the owners before entering the grounds or building. You should arrange any visit in advance by contacting the current proprietors.

Traces of old earthwork fortifications still surround the castle grounds, showing how the medieval defenders protected this location. These partially preserved defensive barriers reveal the original structure of the fortified estate.
