Sucha Beskidzka Castle

Sucha Beskidzka Castle is a fortification with three wings arranged in a horseshoe shape, enclosing a rectangular courtyard with arcaded galleries on its sides. A clock tower rises at the northwest corner, anchoring the structure's overall composition.

The structure originated in the mid-16th century under a Florentine founder and underwent substantial modifications in the early 1600s under different leadership. These transformations shaped the building's current appearance.

The rooms display decorative features from different periods, with the Marshal's Hall showing an elaborate coffered ceiling that speaks to baroque tastes. Walking through the interior, one can sense how art and design shaped daily life here over centuries.

The building now houses multiple functions, with one wing operating as a hotel and other sections displaying art collections. Keep in mind that access to some areas may be restricted depending on current activities.

A substantial library collection from the 19th century was dispersed during the museum's establishment, representing a loss of important archival materials. Records of this former collection still survive in local documentation.
