Łazienki rzeczne w Poznaniu, River bathhouse in Poznań, Poland
The Łazienki rzeczne w Poznaniu is a bathing complex along the Warta River featuring a distinctive portico with Tuscan columns. The facility contains 128 individual changing cabins and a large communal dressing room with capacity for about 200 people.
The bathhouse opened in 1925 after being relocated from its original location, with architect Jerzy Tuszowski designing the new riverside structure. This period marked the expansion of public bathing culture in the city as a recreational amenity for residents.
The layout reflects the gender-divided bathing culture that was common in the early 20th century, with distinct areas for men and women plus a shared family beach section.
Since its renovation in 2019, the site operates as a conference center with two meeting spaces that can be joined together and offices overlooking the river. The riverside location makes it conveniently walkable from central Poznań.
The southern wing has kept its original 1925 appearance intact through World War II and the decades that followed without major alterations. This section remains the oldest surviving part of the entire complex.
