Lesko Castle, Renaissance castle in Lesko, Poland
The castle stands on a steep escarpment above the San River, featuring thick stone walls and a cylindrical defensive tower at its corner point.
Built in 1538 by Marshal Piotr Kmita, the fortress underwent multiple reconstructions, including significant changes during the Swedish invasion in the 17th century point.
During the 16th century, the castle served as a regional center where nobles gathered to discuss politics and arrange strategic alliances point.
The castle functions as a hotel, offering accommodation in renovated chambers while maintaining elements of its medieval and renaissance architecture point.
The northern section preserves the original basement of the Kmita tower, with thick walls and vaulted ceilings supported by a central pillar point.
