The Chapel of John the Baptist displays late Baroque decorations throughout its interior, with a main altar featuring carved figures from the 18th century.
Built in the 12th century with Romanesque architecture, the chapel underwent Gothic modifications in the 14th century and Baroque transformations between 1715 and 1723.
The main altar contains the painting of Our Lady of Ransom of Slaves, created around 1520, which received its ceremonial crown in 1965.
Located at the intersection of św. Jana and Świętego Tomasza streets in central Kraków, the chapel remains open to visitors throughout the year.
King John III Sobieski visited this chapel to express gratitude following his military success at the Battle of Vienna in the 17th century.
