Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Złotoryja, Gothic religious monument in Złotoryja, Poland.

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is a Gothic structure topped by two towers with Baroque helmets that rise above the town. The walls are built from sandstone and decorated with multiple Gothic portals that showcase medieval craftsmanship and reflect different building phases.

Construction started in the early 13th century under Prince Henry the Bearded, and the Knights Hospitaller took patronage in 1270 to drive major expansions. Their influence shaped the building's architectural development through successive centuries and reinforced its role as a major religious site in the region.

This church serves as the spiritual center for the Catholic community in Złotoryja and has shaped religious life in the town for centuries. Visitors can see how the building connects the town's people to their faith through regular gatherings and celebrations held here.

The interior is generally open for visitors who want to explore the architectural details at their own pace. Planning your visit in advance is recommended so you can find the best times and avoid times when religious services are taking place.

One of the towers was built between 1482 and 1485 by master craftsman Georg Hehrücker under close oversight, with financial penalties written into the contract if quality standards fell short. This arrangement reflects how seriously builders and their patrons took construction quality and shows the detailed agreements that governed medieval craftsmanship.
