Church of the Immaculate Conception of St. Mary, Brodnica

The Church of the Immaculate Conception of St. Mary is a brick building with Late Baroque architecture, featuring a wide nave and a two-section chancel. The structure displays typical Baroque characteristics with carefully balanced proportions and formal design elements that define its appearance.

The church was founded in 1751 by Józef Pląskowski, a District Governor, and his wife Rozalia, then consecrated in 1762. It served as a Franciscan community place of worship and became an important religious center in the region.

The church is dedicated to Mary's Immaculate Conception, and its interior showcases 18th-century religious artworks and detailed decorative elements. Visitors can observe the craftsmanship throughout the space, including ornamental details and period furnishings that reflect the faith and artistic traditions of the community.

The building is open during religious services, and visitors can also explore the adjacent parish cemetery. The cemetery features monuments and sculptures that can be viewed as part of a visit to the site.

In 1996, the church received designation as the first Sanctuary of Saint Anthony in northern Poland. This recognition gives the site a special religious significance for pilgrims and visitors who come specifically to this shrine.
